Cejl is a place where past and present meet within a few square metres. In this guided walk, we will not look at a “locality” as a label, but at a living neighbourhood – and at the people who today create its community, relationships, culture, and everyday life.

Our guide, Alica Sigmund Heráková, will introduce the current life of the Roma community, its organisations and initiatives. Particular attention will be given to the wider historical context: how the presence of Roma in Brno intertwines with the city’s history, especially with the departure of Jews and Germans – and how these transformations continue to shape what we see, hear, and experience in Cejl today.
