Price of peace 29.5.-8.6.2025

We are a festival of open dialogue and understanding. We create a space for sharing stories, seeking common ground, and overcoming boundaries. Join a unique event that inspires new perspectives on both the past and the future.

In the tenth edition of the Meeting Brno festival, we seek to explore the question of peace—a theme more urgent today than ever before. We take inspiration from historical events that have shaped our society, while also reflecting on the challenges of today’s world. This year marks 80 years since the end of World War II—a conflict whose legacy continues to influence our present. Yet we live in a time when peace is no longer a given. War is once again shaking Europe, and conflicts affect many other parts of the world.

What has history taught us about the price of peace? How can we deal with the consequences of wars that still shape our society? What are we willing to do for a future in which peace is a true value, not just a wish? And what is the personal cost of peace for each of us?

Over the course of ten days, you can look forward to discussions with prominent figures, theatre performances, concerts, exhibitions, and the traditional Reconciliation March. Come to a festival where meeting is not just a word, but a lived experience.

“I consider Meeting Brno a highly important element in the mosaic of remembrance culture. Our history is far from simple, and it is vital to view the past with objectivity so that we can better understand the present and be equipped for the future.”

Daniel Herman, former Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic
