Arnold's Villa
The image neighbors have of each other is shaped not only by experiences but also by prejudices. This is certainly true for the relationship between Czechs and Germans. In the documentary film Přes naše prahy (Across Our Thresholds), students from the Karel Rehbein School in Hanau, students from the American Academy in Brno, and their teachers Markus Harzer and Pavel Novák, along with other witnesses and academics from both countries, explore the image of this relationship. Their starting point is the reading of Vyhnání Gerty Schnirch (The Expulsion of Gerta Schnirch) by Kateřina Tučková.
The film features dialogues in Czech, English, and German, with Czech subtitles.
Limited capacity, reservation recommended.
The film was supported by the Czech-German Future Fund.
It is presented in collaboration with the Museum of the City of Brno and the Arnold Villa.
