The Home Within

Home Within is not only the place where we were born. It is often a place we create – day by day, decision by decision. Sometimes that means learning to be kind to ourselves when everything is falling apart. And sometimes it also means saying out loud who we are – even when it may come at a cost.

This participatory discussion starts precisely there. Eliška Mynářová is a trans woman, therapist, and coach. Her perspective connects personal experience with professional work with people: what helps us withstand uncertainty, how we build inner support, and how we return to it when the outside world seems to crumble beneath our feet. Together with moderator Karolína Štorková, she will open a safe space for sharing and for searching together.

Trans experience can often reveal with striking clarity what it means to seek home: in a body that may feel unfamiliar for a long time, in a language where we look for words that truly name us, and in a community where we need to be seen as we really are. And ultimately, above all, within ourselves – the place that can hold us when everything around us starts to shake.

Together we will return to the themes of self-compassion and inner kindness – not as a “self-care” slogan, but as a foundation we can step out from and return to. We may not be able to influence how the world around us responds, but we can look for ways not to abandon ourselves. The audience will be involved through a questionnaire and live discussion. We will share, search, and put into words what an inner home means to us – and what a path back to ourselves can look like when it is not idealised, but truly lived.
