Home is not just an address. For children without a family background, it means acceptance, relationship, stability – and someone who stays even when things become difficult. In this discussion, we will encounter a story that began with a personal experience of adoption and foster care and gradually grew into something much larger.
Giovanni and Tecla Figini will introduce COMETA, a community and non-profit organisation based in Como, Italy: a network of families, educators, and volunteers creating an environment of welcome, education, and professional development for children and young people facing challenging life situations. We will speak about how personal commitment can evolve into a broader social project, how COMETA supports young people in their transition to independent life, and what aspects of this approach may inspire the Czech context.
Moderated by David Macek.
In cooperation with the Brno City Museum and Arnold’s Villa.
