Czechia as an “education village”
In the whirlwind of the school year and holidays, the Czech environment is still lacking the opportunity to meet together, reflect and evaluate what the school year has brought us. And to reflect on the meaning of holidays and free time, which often reveals what really matters to us. That’s why, together with the National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic and the Educational Institute for Moravia, we have prepared a festival look back at what we have been dealing with this year (not only at school). We will follow up on the successful international conference “Do we belong together? Region as an education village”. The title of the meeting is inspired by the African proverb “it takes a whole village to raise a child”. It is based on the fact that successful education requires the cooperation of families, schools, associations, companies, professional departments… in short, the whole village.
After the morning expert programme at the premises of the Educational Institute for Moravia, we will start the afternoon part for the general public in the relaxed atmosphere of the summer cinema of Špilberk Castle. A pleasant atmosphere will be created by a chat with the patroness of Meeting Brno 2023, actress and graduated teacher Andrea Kerestešová Růžičková. In the following panels, Deputy Minister Martina Běťáková, Government Commissioner for Human Rights Klára Šimáčková Laurenčíková and expert Bob Kartous will present the current challenges of Czech education. Minister Mikuláš Bek, Director of the National Institute of Education Ivo Jupa, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education Ondřej Andrýs and Deputy Governor of South Moravia Jiří Nantl will reflect on the past school year. The festival will be followed by a free celebration of good endings and new beginnings, which will end with a film screening.
Programme will be held in Czech only.
