Collective Trauma in Transparent Communication

Collective trauma causes polarization and fragmentation. During the workshop, the basic principles of how to absorb the consequences of the past will be presented.

Zdeněk Weber and Šárka Weberová from the Institute for Trauma Prevention and Healing will show the basic principles to determine consequences of collective adverse, distressing and destructive circumstances and the way they are manifested, especially in interpersonal interaction and relations. Finding ways to discuss highly dangerous topics in a safe and meaningful way is a major challenge today.

The goal of transparent communication is not to reveal “facts” and have a discussion about them. The goal of transparent communication is to integrate and assimilate the consequences of the past and ultimately overcome them. Topics affected by collective trauma manifest themselves by polarizing and fragmenting relationships and meaningful discussions and by the subsequent isolation of the group and individuals.

During the workshop, basic principles of transparent communication will be presented. We will moreover, with great caution and in a sensitive and holistic way, approach a specific topic, which will arise from the lecture and discussion of the participants.

The estimated length of the workshop is 2.5 hours.

Programme will be held in czech.
