Commemoration day for the blessed Marie Restituta Kafková in Vienna
Sister Marie Restituta Kafková was murdered by the Nazis on the 30th of March 1943. She was falsely accused of distributing poems that mocked the Führer in the hospital where she was the Senior nurse. She also refused to take down crucifixes from the hospital walls.
Marie Restituta was born in Husovice, Brno and a new church in the Brno-Lesná parish was consecrated to her. Let’s honor the legacy of a woman, whose life story remains relevant still and the value of her sacrifice shows us the way to truth, love and hope on the 80th anniversary of her murder.
