Reading by and conversation with Thomas Keneally – canceled

Thomas Keneally, the author of the novel on which the film Schindler’s List was based, who was to be our honoured guest of the festival, is unfortunately unable to attend due to the limitations linked with the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this setback, Thomas will be with us in spirit as we invite you to the Friday and Saturday programme dedicated to the story of “Schindler’s Jews” and the factory in Brněnec.

This is the first and unique opportunity for a Czech audience to meet the author of the book after which the film Schindler’s List was made. The Australian novelist and playwright, Thomas Keneally (born 1935), reads from his novel Schindler’s Ark (1982), which won the prestigious Man Booker Prize and served as the subject matter for Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award-winning movie. A conversation with the writer follows.

In English, interpreted into Czech.
