Eröffnung des Festivals Meeting Brno: Vernissage der Ausstellung Brünn befreit!?

Im 30. Jubiläumsjahr des Verfalls des kommunistischen Regimes haben wir in Zusammenarbeit mit Post Bellum die audiovisuelle interaktive Ausstellung Brünn befreit!? für Sie vorbereitet.

Am 25. April 1945 traf die Rote Armee in der Brünner Innenstadt ein. Die Hoffnungen auf Wiedererlangung der Freiheit und Demokratie haben sich leider nicht für alle Bewohner der Stadt erfüllt. Deutsche Mitbürger wurden ohne Unterschied vertrieben, viele von ihnen sogar ermordet. Die Nachkriegs-Tschechoslowakei erfreute sich nicht lange ihrer Freiheit. Im Februar 1948 ergriffen die Kommunisten die Macht, und gleich danach kam die Zeit der politischen Prozesse. Einem kurzen Aufatmen im Frühling 1968 wurde vom Einmarsch der Truppen des Warschauer Paktes ein jähes Ende gesetzt. Ein Jahr nach der Besatzung am 21. und 22. August 1969 wurden die Demonstrationen von den tschechoslowakischen Sicherheitskräften brutal erstickt. Trotz der frostigen Stille der Normalisierung wirkte in Brünn eine demokratische Opposition. Im Milieu des Undergrounds entstanden neue Kunstwerke, Samisdat wurde herausgegeben, aus Hochschulen verwiesene Pädagogen organisierten heimliche Seminare und Vorlesungen. Ihre Hoffnung auf Freiheit und Demokratie erfüllte sich erst im November 1989.

Die Ausstellung will keine Urteile, keine Behauptungen fällen. Sie lässt Augenzeugen und direkte Akteure nicht nur dieser Schlüsselereignisse des 20. Jahrhunderts ohne Kommentar sprechen. Alle Geschichten der Zeitzeugen wurden von der Brünner Filiale des Vereins Paměť národa aufgenommen.

Die Ausstellung kann vom 29/5 bis 28/6/2019 auf dem Platz Moravské náměstí am Denkmal der Roten Armee besichtigt werden.

Meeting Brno festival opening: Brno Liberated!? exhibition

In the year of the thirtieth anniversary of the fall of the communist regime, we prepared an audiovisual interactive exhibition in cooperation with Post Bellum, titled Brno Liberated!?
On 25 April 1945, the Red Army entered the centre of Brno. The hope of regaining freedom and democracy did not concern all the inhabitants of the city, however. The German citizens were indiscriminately expelled, many also murdered. Post-war Czechoslovakia did not rejoice in freedom for long. In February 1948, the Communists seized power and brought a time of political trials. The short period of fresh air in the spring of 1968 ended with the invasion of the Warsaw Pact troops. The comemmoration of the occupation on 21 and 22 August 1969 was brutally suppressed by the Czechoslovak security forces. Despite the freezing silence of ‘normalization’ in Brno, there was democratic opposition. In the underground environment, new works were being created, samizdats were published, educators fired from universities held seminars and lectures. Hope for freedom and democracy only came true in November 1989.
The exhibition does not judge, does not claim. It lets witnesses and direct actors not only of these key events of the 20th century speak out without comment. All stories of witnesses were recorded by the “Memory of the Nation” branch in Brno.

Zahájení festivalu Meeting Brno: vernisáž výstavy Brno osvobozené!?

V roce třicátého výročí pádu komunistického režimu jsme pro vás ve spolupráci s Post Bellum připravili audiovizuální, interaktivní výstavu Brno osvobozené!?
Dne 25. dubna 1945 vstoupila Rudá armáda do centra Brna. Naděje na znovunabytí svobody a demokracii se netýkala všech obyvatel města. Němečtí spoluobčané byli bez rozdílu vyhnáni, mnozí povražděni. Poválečné Československo se ze svobody neradovalo dlouho. V únoru 1948 se moci chopili komunisté a nastala doba politických procesů. Krátké období nadechnutí na jaře 1968 ukončila invaze vojsk Varšavské smlouvy. Připomenutí okupace ve dnech 21. a 22. srpna 1969 brutálně potlačily již československé bezpečnostní složky. Přes mrazivé ticho normalizace v Brně působila demokratická opozice. V prostředí undergroundu vznikala nová díla, vydávaly se samizdaty, pedagogové vyloučení z vysokých škol pořádali semináře a přednášky. Naděje na svobodu a demokracii se naplnila až v listopadu 1989.
Výstava nesoudí, netvrdí. Nechává bez komentáře promlouvat očité svědky a přímé aktéry nejen těchto klíčových událostí 20. století. Veškeré příběhy pamětníků zaznamenala pobočka Paměti národa v Brně.
Expozici bude možné navštívit ve dnech 29/5–28/6/2019 na Moravském náměstí u památníku Rudoarmějce.
